The basis of my predictions is the modelling of human collective behaviour. As part of that study, it is easy to see that there are periods of decline in systems, during which they are old, conservative and rigid. When such systems try to respond to catastrophes such as this pandemic, their lack of bold, youthful and expansive energy greatly inhibits them. Fear of decline becomes dominant and begets poor responses and strategies with a collective neurosis that only hastens the demise of the system.
